About Us Texas Sundown Seasonings, LLC is a seasoning company based in the oldest town in Texas, Nacogdoches. The company was founded in 2016 by the mom and son duo of Linda & Daniel Byrd who were passionate about finding an alternative to enhance the flavor of their foods without the need for seasonings with cheap fillers. With this challenge in mind, they stumbled across their flagship seasoning blend after Daniel grilled ribeyes for the family one evening. Linda & Daniel spent two years testing their seasoning on friends and family to refine the recipe and to test whether it was good on everything like everyone had been saying it was. During this time, they received guidance from family friends who were restaurant owners with over 40 years of experience. This guidance helped them solidify the positive feedback they had received in those two years and then decided it was time to share their seasoning with other Texans. To manufacture their product, Texas Sundown Seasonings, LLC found a co-packer based out of Beaumont, Texas, with whom they had prior knowledge of, given Linda is from the area. It was because of these Beaumont roots were rooted in childhood experiences that the co-packer was selected, and it aligned with Linda & Daniel’s pursuit to keeping their business based in Texas. Initially, the company started selling their flagship product, Texas Sundown Seasoning, in local mom-and-pop stores in and around Nacogdoches. The product was well-received, and after a year of selling locally, the company decided they wanted to share their seasoning with more Texans. Texas Sundown Seasonings, LLC contacted Brookshire Brothers to feature their product on store shelves. However, after guidance from Brookshire Brothers, they needed to re-adjust the sizing of their product's bottle to meet store requirements. The company persisted and after a year, they successfully adjusted the product size, making Texas Sundown Seasoning available in Brookshire Brothers in 2020. The company began delivering their product directly to select stores in and around the East Texas area, with permission from store managers. After six months of direct delivery, Texas Sundown Seasonings, LLC connected with Brookshire Brothers to discuss further expansion into additional stores. In 2021, they were granted access to the distribution center and are now in over 80 Brookshire Brothers grocery stores around Texas and Louisiana. Texas is best known for its unique tastes and flavors which is what makes the Texas cuisine so special. Linda & Daniel understand this connection and it’s that connection, as well as the authenticity of the product, that resonates with their customers.
